hello everyone i was after some advice - over the Christmas holidays i have been spending quite a lot of time with Sid and Nancy, my Lovebirds and i noticed that Nancy has increasingly large bald patches under her wings. I think Sid is over preening her. Any suggestions? |

I know with my birds that when they lift their wings, sometimes it looks like there are patches without feathers. I always thought this was normal. Usually when my birds have over-preened each other, it's on their head. Are there any other areas that look preened or plucked? I know it would be hard to get a pic of their armpits!! It would be good if you could though. :) |

The budgies and Squeak look the same under their wings Tracey I would watch them if you are concerned, just to see if he is preening her there. |

I have never seen or heard of over preening on the underside of the wings either. |

I have looked under Gizmo's and she seems to have some small bald patches under her wings as well, but i agree with the other if you are concerned just keep a eye on them preening each other. :) |

she's definitely got loads less feathers than a) she used to and b) he has, she seems to have less round her throat. I can't check them that often because a) i have to go to work and b) they spend quite a lot of time in their furry tent, then i can't see what they get up to. Does anyone think there could be another reason why she has got so fewer feathers than him? |

Is she lining the tent with her feathers ? maybe they want some paper to chew and shred although I guess you would already have some in the cage. |
