hi everyone, im introducing myself,im Marie and im owned by 16week old "YOGI" who i rehomed 4 weeks ago. Well its as if hes always lived with us,i will never forget his second day with us and my kids donned woolly hats and gloves even head phones at one point-YOGI had moved in lol and was showing his authority by tweaking ears and fingers. Yogi adores Enya, crisps and sweetie wrappers,a shower from a spray bottle, toast and my nose stud. He dives bombs us to share our dinners, and loves nothing better than a biscuit and a perch on a cup for a drop of tea-all ours of course-cheeky chappie! I found him hiding behind the mantel clock last week-quiet as a mouse he was-little minx had shredded the end of a pencil as in the eraser bit!! Yogi used to be a grump in the morning so i changed his cage cover from blue to yellow----hes a love to know in the morning now In the evening he loves nothing better than half an hour on utube chattering and watching other parrotlets! :) Anyway ive got a pic so ill try and get techy now hide as i really want to share him with you look forward to chatting, bye for now wave |

         Hey Andy, don't worry, they can all be vampires at times eek eek eek eek drats      I know it's easy to say, but don't worry about the nipping, I've had mine over 3 years & still get a blood sample drawn now & again drats  hide hide :scared: Laura's boy Spike, loves her to death but he'll still give her a "love bite" sometimes   Because they're so small they have to have aggressive attitudes in the wild, otherwise they'd never survive. Unfortunately, these guys don't realize that they're not in the wild       If you get him a mate, he may get even worse, they get wayyyyy territorial when they have a girlfriend eek eek drats They say to only get another p'let if you want another one, not because you think your p'let wants one. I got Pesto because I thought Boo Boo was lonely, but she definitely lost some of her bond with me when he came along. Usually, more interaction with your bird in a one-on-one situation, away from any familiar territory is the key to training. Plenty of rewards & "kissy, kissy" for good behavior & a firm voiced "no" with time out back in his cage, for bad behavior. I think that's what makes parrotlets great & gives them character, they're so feisty! It's kind of like owning a 30 gram pit bull rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl |
