2 females in one cage?

Hi All

I took a friend to buy a pair of these parrots a few weeks ago and the man who sold them to him was desperate to sell all 8 so my friend had 2 and I took the other 6, thinking I was doing him and the birds a favour as a couple of the birds have no feathers on the back of their heads and look a little worse for wear . crying
However, after reading lots on various sites and watching the birds I realise they needed to be seperated (hence the no feathers bit)
To cut a long story short, I have bonded pairs seperated in an outside avairy and there are 2 females left which were getting battered by the other pairs so I have bought them inside and are at the minute in a small cage in my front room. nod2

Can I keep them together? They are wild, I dont think they have ever been handled but are quite happy to sit and preen each other. Is it worth me getting a bigger cage for them or do I need to seperate them too?

And any ideas you guys have on stopping them going psycho when I put my hand in the cage to change their water would be great, they really are not used to human contact at all drats

Any help would be great

Thanks All

Yes, you can. but they have to be compatible. Parrotlets can be extremely aggressive toward each other so keep a very close eye on them until you know if they can live together peacefully! First sign of any aggression or fighting and I would split them up.

I had my 2 girls together for a long time..
they were great till one had
an accident.. after I parted them ( was scared
the fit one would hurt the other) they never
bonded back at all.. they now live in separate cages...
Its very sad as Im sure they miss each other

Hopefully they will get along together. Sex really doesn't seem to matter they will still bond. I would just try keeping them together in the cage you have right now. Keep a close eye on them and if after awhile they seem to still be getting along then put them in a larger cage.
