I have had my budgies around 6 years now and never had a problem with them, but I have noticed that Babe has been eating a lot recently, when I checked him over he is going light, he eats a lot but is not taking it in only grinding his food up. So much to the budgies disgust I took him out of the main cage last night and have him in the hospital cage, hes very pissed and so are the other three.
I have given him meds and have cider vinegar in his water same with all the birds today, I have some tyne in the cage clean seed and pure millet, he is still eating but just grinding I have also given him some brocolli this morning.

Anyone any other ideas, going light is not a nice thing as they just starve to death if they do not get better.

I think it used to be called megabacteria Its a yest infection in the crop which is what the cider vineger is for and the other foods to reduce the yeast. some times you can massage it out of the crop if the crop is full of gass his isn't. Yes he is fluffed up and asleep a lot and then he just eats

Sorry about Babe Kev :( Boo had a fungus that was mostly respiratory & I had to give her an anti-fungal medication twice a day. Not sure how you treat a crop fungus, but maybe the vet can tell you.

Well it seems he has now been eating as there was a big pile of droppings under his perch this morning, they were also a good normal colour as well. i will call the local vet (non bird) to see if she will prescribe some more meds

Thanks for your kind words Kev
