I did Scooby-doo's wings with a light clip
the day he arrived ...It didnt make any difference to him
he is bonded with my husband and me and has never
shown any agression... Wish Id done the same with my girls,
but, I listened to everyone else. It was the the wrong
thing to do.
My advise, do what you intend to do clip or not to clip! The sooner
you start, the more use to it your bird will be.
Mine dont mind it being done at all now

Cool, I think I will do basically that. Other sources have recommended letting him get used to his house for a day before playing with him, so I think I'll pop him straight in his cage, hang out with him like that for a day then clip him the next. Was going to try to find out how much a vet would charge actually, as the date approaches I'm getting more nervous about doing th first clip myself, but we'll see. Wouldn't want to have shakey hands, definitely!

How can I make the next 4 days disappear? I am jonesing for a parrotlet! So close now...

I would let him settle in for a while first. Don't make too many changes at one time.

Just sit by his cage for a little while each day too let him get used to you, after 1 or 2 days you can leave the door open to see if he will come out on his own, maybe have some millet or something he likes & he may sit on your hand.

Patience is the key.
