i wonder, if not a slightly gross idea if its worth everyone taking pictures of their parrotlets droppings, so everyone can see whats normal and what isnt.....bad or good idea? everyone feeds their birds different things on different days etc etc, i think for peace of mind if someone can say zooks poo looks normal i could stop worrying lol and not only that but im sure there are others who wonder the same thing. coz i still worry somethings wrong, despite him being...well himself...at the same time i wonder if it just comes from stress at being grabbed everyday and given a calcium shot as the vet said to do. soooo, once i get my camera back from grays shop, il take a picture, and if anyone else can do pics too that would be awesome. either that or everyone can tell me zooks is gravely ill and i should be going to vets XD |

lol! at least you can, grays like 'lost camera' >_>, it would be helpful though. but i think im right in saying zooky isnt 100% but that its not at the severe end of the problem. i think zooks does have a litle liver trouble, , might be now that hes getting too much calcium or something so its causing the liquid to go green slightly. so im going to stop giving it him and reduce it down to once a week and see how it goes. obviously now hes better he doesnt need it everyday. but i wish the vet had said what to do with it after he was better.. also though for new people, its helpful to see whats right and wrong :). find it hard to find the right pics for things and sometimes descriptions arent enough. |

My parrotlets poo looks different for each of them! Bit like saying all peoples is the same it isnt. Whats normal for one bird isnt for another. As long as his doesnt change much its normal for him also it changes with different foods they eat. Sorry but I think your worrying too much. Relax or he will pick up on your vibes. |

i probably worry more then normal people do, but only because im a high anxiety person and i did animal care lol. logically for me his behaviour suggests normal but the greeny liquid in his poo doesnt. my personality means i obsessively look up everything concerning animals and find ways to...well solve them...im abit ocd like that lol. and even if they vary in colour on the solid, the liquids meant to be clear isnt it? not green =/. and this will benefit newer people to, pictures sometimes do better then words ^^. i think if i saw pictures id worry less.XD |

I'm sure I've cleaned up green poo with a brown bit, also seen whites, brown bits, green bits. Those sorts of colour Id imagine are normal. My p'lets eat alot of fruit and veg so I guess that's why it turns green. Like when we pee that's different colour depending on what fluids we have had. I would imaging all the 'earth tone' colours are fine, red is a colour I would worry about. |

but you can get red when theyv eaten red food cant you? =S the avian vet dude said that green liquid was bad, even if the rest is normal, because their poos made of 3 parts, the solid, the urate which is the white bit. i think its called urate. and then the liquid which should be clear. except zookys is green.and the vet said green liquid could indicate liver disease blah blah blah...have to say that vet wasnt the comforting type, more the pay me monney and im your man type. gray thinks im being paranoid too lol. but better to worry then to ignore whats there...if i was right he'd go downhill eventually. it probably is just the affect of too much calcium, now hes better he doesnt really need it everyday... |

All of our birds have different 'normal' poo's too! Boo, for instance, always has poo that is more watery and green, but that's OK for her. She's had several exams at the vet and she is healthy. I think what happens with the green liquid part is that when they first poo, the liquid is clear, but then is mixes with the green poo and takes on that color. That's what I've observed anyway, so I wouldn't worry. Maybe Zooky is like our Boo :) |
