poor snickers.
i know they can control seizures in dogs and cats with medication can they not do the same in birds ?

My vet told me that they can but usually only for a last resort because it's so difficult to get the dosage correct. And it tends to make them very drowsy to the point of being lethargic. :(

this is a picture of Coco, the one that had the fit, she's in the background, she's a dilute, she's doing so much better; removed her 5 babies all weaned; Seen her mating again, removed two eggs, transferred her and her partner in a larger cage, she needs to exercise and stretch her wings, hopefully she will make a full recovery.

This is Coco today, 5 months after her fit. She's doing much better but if she falls off the perch,
she rolls over and panic on the floor and hurries to climb up the cage to go back on the perch but
other then that she's doing well, she's active and loves her food.

Sad she was so affected by her fit, but she still looks lovely. yellow1

I didn't know parrotlets suffered with seizures. Scary!

Yes lots of people on here have,
parrotlets which have fits or seizures,
Sky my blue girl did as a baby... I recon she
has never been the same since.

It seems to me colour mutations are more affected by it then the green wild colours

I think my mountain parakeet had them, but when he lost his mate it seamed to trigger them off! poor little blighter!!
