I think both Scooby and Bakewell have Lovebirds so they can tell you about their personality -- I think they're more feisty. You're right about the budgies and Lineolated parakeets, they are too docile for a Parrotlet. |

Awww i have seen a few parrotlet pics with various birds its adorable!! ^_^ Lovebirds...( some may disagree ) I think are always happier in pairs unless you have ooodles of time for one. so I would recomend 2 hand tame lovies, but then again I dont know much about tame lovies. how much time do you have for these birds? do you work full time? if you work full time or your away more than your home I wouldnt recomend anything other than a parrotlet as they are really the only birds who are suitable for this kind of lifestyle as they can entertain themselves and enjoy their own complny ^_^ some birds can go a bit crazy and start plucking out of boredem if left in a cage too long. Hope this helps <3 |

I work from home in the mornings (bookwork so birds can be with me while on the computer) and at the moment a couple of hours a day in an after school club. So am home most of the time but don't have hours of time to spare. I have a small cage in my office and Bud usually sits on top of that while I am working. I am planning to work more hours either afternoon or morning (if I worked elsewhere in the morning I would then work from home in afternoon) So maybe a parrotlet would be a better option at the moment. I do love some of the larger birds. I have two dogs so they need walking too, and family and house to look after giggle. I don't do much in the evenings, mainly watch tv, bit of searching on my laptop, but I do find Bud is happier and more friendly in the day time. If I get him out in the evening he has a tickle and then is quite keen to get back to his cage. But then that might be a good time to train a new bird. I am seriously considering one of Stef's birds. nod2 nod2 They look lovely birds and I am thinking nothing venture nothing gain!! Maybe sounds a bit dramatic but think you will know what I mean. I will only keep thinking about it. I am thinking if I put them in separate cages next to each other for a while and let them get used to each other. Then get them out separately to begin with and just take it slowly. I am pretty patient with training. Then in an ideal world they will take to each other and share a cage eventually but hopefully at worst they will get on outside the cage but just be kept caged separately. :) Am talking myself into this!!! K x |
