Lol!!! No blood... not yet anyway...

Buster had just been clipped that very afternoon and our yard is almost totally fenced...so I had no worry about him taking off...he drops like a rock anyway..lol!

Buster is 18 years and Snickers is 19 years and I've had them both since they were babies...

Never had any children...so they are it..lol!

i meant to ask this before but do either of your two talk? i take it you know that a parrotlets live span is somewhere between 15 and 25 years.

Yes!! I've heard they can live for 20 years...a long time for such a small bird!!

And both of my parrots talk. The Grey more so than the Severe and also alot clearer. The Severe does have a problem with a couple swear words though...lol...I "swear" I don't know where he got it from...lol!!!!!

Snickers my Grey is just awesome in the talking department.

Some of his sayings are:

I love you Mommy.
You are a geek.
I'm a butterball.
I want a cookie.
What's your problem.
Come over here and give me a kiss...
It goes on and on!!!!

Your birds are beautiful. My girls are green parrotlets. They are possible triple splits, but I don't plan on breeding them. Breeding is more work than I want to get into.

My son and his girlfriend have an African grey. He is about the same age as my girls (18 months). About a month after they got him he flew out the door. We were a wreck. On the third day he was gone my son was at a friends house and looked up and saw Twitch in a tree. He had to climb up the tree to get him. They have entry ways at both doors so now both sets of doors are always closed.

Here are some pics of Twitch

Twitch has done very well with talking. He can do Phil's phone ring and the beep for the two-way perfect. He calls the dogs and asks them if they want to go out. He will do the two-way beep and then say cool, cool man, then beep again and say hello Twitch. Then he will beep again and say What's up. My son and his girlfriend don't have children but they have Twitch and four dogs. They are their children and my granddogs.

OMG…how awful that Twitch flew away. They were extremely lucky to find him!!! He’s sounds like a real ham!!!! He is very handsome too!! :D

Do you have any pics of your Parrotlets? I would love to see them. As for breeding, that would be a full time job for sure!

He is very lucky to get him back!

We lost coco about 10 years ago, he was in the garage with my hubby, on his perch as he always was (clipped, but growing back in) a car honked, and he took off. I was in tears, never thought we would get him back! it took a day of hunting him down, but we finally got him back! he's never been in the garage since!

Another happy ending!!! What kind of bird is Coco?

One of the Parrotlets that I babysat for flew out my girlfriends door last summer. He was on her shoulder at the time and her husband was bringing in the groceries and out he went... Only took a split second.

Well she put out the word on different web sites that she had lost him. Three days later she found out that the little guy had flown over to another neighborhood three streets away and flew into a lady's head who was gardening. She was so lucky to get him back!

I love Conures. A friend of mine has two Nanday's. They are noisey little birds, but very pretty!

Do you have any pictures of him on the forum?
