i don't take it the wrong way.
i love knowing there are people like you all here to help if i ask for it.

thank you nickki,
he will get used to the bigger seeds and berries in his mix it just might take him a while. mine did the same when they first had their parrot mix, but once they get the strength in their beaks they will start on the larger stuff.

some parrots love going to the bottom of their cages to route about for seeds and stuff. as long as your changing the paper or what ever you have in the bottom of the cage daily he will be fine. i have a grate in mine so once they drop it its gone :)

because i keep mine in pairs i have big food bowls in their cages 4" 10cm size. this helps to stop them (a bit anyway) throwing out all their food. i also put the large pots in to stop them bickering over food

Hmmmm...my breeder told me to feed Cricket a seed made just for small birds...it's a small hookbill seed mix..

This is his primary food as far as seed goes...once in a while I will give him a parrot seed mix, but only certain things..I limit the sunflower seeds to a couple every now and then...

Was I told wrong?

i don't think you were told wrong.

in alot of the research i did, i found nearly all recomended hookbill mix at first, but here in the uk, i can't get hold of any.

so my breed gave me a parrot/parrokeet mix which has huge pieces and tiny pieces. so he gets the best of both.

;) :D nod2

No Gail your ok feeding that mixture because I know you feed a wide variety of different seed mixes to Cricket also. Now about the lettuce you should NEVER feed Iceberg lettuce to any animal it will give them diahrrea very badly. There is absolutely no nutrition in it at all. Never feed salted peanuts. My birds do get peanuts occassionally but theyare always the unsalted. Your better off giving them almonds unsalted of course. Walnuts are another big no no because they are so high in fat.
